The BC-12DAC is a HD-SDI or SDI to Component or Composite Converter.
It accepts all formats of HD-SDI and converts them to Component Video, RGB or YUV. It also encodes SDI to Composite Video. These functions are performed using full 12-Bit digitisation. The incoming signal is line equalised and passed to the deserialiser. The resultant parallel signal is then converted to analogue and encoded to Component or Composite depending on the incoming signal format. The video outputs are filtered to produce a clean analogue output interface.
Careful attention has been paid to reduce thermal runaway, eliminating the need for forced air cooling as fan failure and overheating is the most common cause of failure in modern electronic systems.

The BC12-DAC occupies a single slot in the BC100-3RU 19" rack-mounting frame which can hold up to 15 single slot cards. Some BC Series processing cards have dual functionality allowing up to 30 channels of video to be transmitted or received from a single 3RU frame.
Signal and card monitoring is achieved through SNMP monitoring in the BM101 network card.
Alternatively GP-Output alarms can be triggered via the BM100 module.
